Josh has broad experience in all areas of litigation including discovery, pretrial preparation, first chair jury trial experience, and appellate argument in front of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Josh was formerly the head of the trademark law practice group at a mid-size intellectual property boutique firm where he prosecuted hundreds of trademark registrations while managing the trademark portfolios of large and small companies in a range of fields from health foods to telecommunications and amusement parks. In addition, Josh has experience as lead counsel in right of publicity matters in Texas, California, Florida, and Ohio. Josh also has a range of experience in entertainment law, having helped musicians and filmmakers navigate the myriad legal issues in the entertainment industry.
Josh received his J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota where he was on law review. He is a member of the State Bars of Texas and New York and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, Southern, and Western, Districts of Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Josh is also a member of the Austin Intellectual Property Law Association’s Amicus Committee.
In his spare time Josh enjoys spending time with his wife Debra and his rambunctious sons.
